Service Description

An extraordinary 19-km scenic route to enjoy the great diversity of ecosystems (fauna, vegetation, sea, rice fields, etc.). We will start from the Bicis Delta Natura center located in the town of Poble Nou del Delta, a charming Mediterranean-style town with landscaped streets, whitewashed houses, and open interior courtyards. This farming, fishing, and tourist town is surrounded by rice fields, amidst natural spaces such as the Bahía de los Alfaques, the Encañizada lagoon, and the Tancada lagoon. We will continue towards Playa del Trabucador and part of the Tancada lagoon. Barra del Trabucador is a natural space where we will find a sandy stretch that juts into the Mediterranean Sea. Two beaches can be seen: an outer one, the Mediterranean Sea, and an inner one, the Bahía de los Alfacs. We will continue to the Salinas de la Trinidad, the only sea salt flats in Catalonia and one of the largest in Spain, located at Punta de la Banya, a peninsula in the Ebro Delta connected by the Barra del Trabucador. After visiting the Barra del Trabucador, we will continue the route to the Laguna de la Tancada, riding a bike path through the lagoon. At the end of the path, we will continue back to Poble Nou, where we will leave our bikes at the Bicis Delta Natura center. After completing the bike route, we will take advantage of the opportunity to explore the town on foot and head to the Pati d'Agustí Restaurant, located in the same Poble Nou delta. One of the most famous restaurants in the Ebro Delta, it offers a wide variety of rice paellas, a menu with a choice of typical dishes, and specialties. Helmet and map included.
