GUIDED MUSSEL FISHING ROUTE

Service Description

We'll start from the Delta Natura Bike Center located in the town of Poble Nou del Delta, a charming Mediterranean-style town with landscaped streets, whitewashed houses, and open interior courtyards. This farming, fishing, and tourist town is surrounded by rice fields, amidst natural spaces such as the Bahía de los Alfaques, the Encañizada lagoon, and the Tancada lagoon. We'll continue towards the Encanyissada Space, a wetland formed by the Encanyissada, Clot, and Noria lagoons, until we reach the Casa de Madera museum via bike path. This house was built in the late 1920s by a group of hunters attracted by the large number of birds that inhabit this natural space. This center, now a museum, houses one of the most representative collections of the Delta's bird species. In front of the museum, we find a viewpoint with a wide view of the Encanyissada lagoon. · We will continue the route along the bike path around the Encanyissada lagoon, the largest lagoon in the Ebro Delta. · During the tour, we will find ourselves at the Pantena. We will learn firsthand about a traditional fishing technique considered one of the oldest in Europe. · We will conclude the route with a tasting of mussel muscles, oysters, and a glass of cava, or we will eat a wide variety of rice dishes, typical dishes. · After visiting the mussel farms, we will return by bike to the Bicis Delta Naturaleza center in Poble Nou del Delta, or we can pick them up by van.
